By law he cannot evict you under the act 1994 he has to give you 31 days as you pay your rent monthly as a landlord if he go against this you can sue for loads

You've signed a set contract, so NO he can't just increase ot, unless you sign another contract with that price. As for evicting you, he'd have to serve a Section 21, which gives you 8 weeks, even 1/2

in gov.uk says if it's a fixed term the landlord must inform the tenant for the raise 6 months before the end of the contract.
