In the UK they still have A LOT of manual cars. The red/yellow is when you release your parking brake and prepare to get into gear.

You can tell the difference between amber for green and amber for red; amber for green will have both red and amber showing at the same time, amber for green will have just amber showing 😊

idk about other countries but in Canada the law is the amber actually means stop unless it is unsafe to do so. it doesn't mean hurry up before it goes red.
