how are you safe, with radiactive particles on a nylon glove, and no hazmat gear?😬

Totally serious idea/question: a dog can react to a Geiger counter. Why not outfit the dogs with a small personal radiation monitor that emits noise?

I know you’re holding just a few specks, but wouldn’t that affect you with radiation?

Particle radiation isn’t like gamma. It may put off some gamma, but the majority would be alpha or beta. Ingestion/ingalation hazard

Can someone explain how much radiation is lethal and what is safe to be around? How does even minor radiation like that not cause damage??

Out of curiosity, do you guys frequently perform air samples testing for airborne contamination? It seems wild to me working in an area without filtered respiratory equipment

Radiation is wild. Can’t see it. And it extends 360 degrees going into items and being absorbed into them. It will take YEARS to be habitable.

Do you get dangerous levels of radiation from holding the particles without radiation safe PPE? This is an amazing project 🐶❤️
