the problem is is they have one cashier who is extremely slow and then on top of it there's slow old people who pay cash and stand their counting their change. I want soft check for convenience

Come, now we all know those jobs are going to be part time so that they don’t have to pay benefits. The whole point of needing jobs is to have a good jobs not minimum wage no benefit jobs

that's what self-checkout should have been in the first place 10 items or less and if you had more than 10 items it would Red alert and an employee tell you sir you cannot

More employees makes so much sense. I used to have to work self checkout and the quick lane when I was working in a small grocery store in high school

Only Albertsons has self checkout where I live. Every other store doesn’t have them anymore 😅

Im in Canada. The 10 or less items self checkout has been closed for a while. The 20+ is the only thing open. I use to be a cashier so i scan quickly. Those that can’t should go to regular checkouts

My Walmart only has two manned registers and the rest are self check out lmao and my local target only ever has 2-4 registers open

If there's no self checkout, I'll shop at a competitor who has it. I'm not going to be punished because the companies won't pay for Loss Prevention at the lanes. I'll shop elsewhere.

honestly I have found the amount of cashiers no different than 10+ years ago before self sevrice checkouts started. like at walkmart, sure they had 20 physical tills but only 6 at most were ever open

Most people stealing from retail stores have no intention of paying for their items anyway. Why should the other self-checkout customers have to suffer long lines while waiting for a cashier?
