LIP TUTORIAL: So lips are a very BIG part during my glams. I feel that lips are often neglected or not given the proper attention they deserve during makeup. A good lip application and lip combo can truly do wonders for a look and change someone’s face entirely for the better! Not only will it enhance and complement the clients overall facial features, but it adds a more polished and professional look. Lip lining is such a crucial step to me. It’s not always about “overlining” but rather enhancing the lips shape which is more important than anything. There are times I may overline but overall I try to enhance the lip shape to make it look more feminine, balanced, and doll like. That may include adding more height to the outer corners, balancing the Cupid’s bow, correcting asymmetry, accentuating the Cupid’s bow, enlarging smaller lips, or a combination of all depending on the clients natural anatomy. That’s why truly learning facial features as an artist is so important. My clients oftentimes tell me, “you made me look like I have lip filler”, or “no one does lips like you!” and I truly pride myself in my lip application. I will take 10 minutes or whatever amount of time I need until I feel it’s perfect. That’s also why my glams take so long lol 😂🥰 it’s always worth it! For the next step I’m brightening the tzone which is the area I try to add the most “light” to as this will create the illusion of looking more snatched, smooth, and like you have a filter.
