I wasn’t allowed ANY jewelry, no electronics, no journals with spirals or pens it had to be a dull ass tiny pencil with no erasers 😔, nothing with strings on them, I was only allowed to color with crayons and read books all day, everyday AND I had to share a room with 4 other patients. I did not sleep much

I spent the best part of 20 years in and out of psych units, often under a section. Section 3 mainly which is up to 6 months. I appealed and given a solicitor few times but was usually unsuccessful. I had to share a dormitory with 5 other People. I witnessed 3 suicides, many many attempts, i was very poorly but couldn't see it at the time. I was on level 1 observations a number of times where a nurse followed me everywhere even to the toilet etc. I haven't been in now for 8 years which is brilliant for me as I was in at least a couple of times a year. I feel like I have come through the other side now thank the Lord. I often say im going to write a book about my experiences on a psych ward. I could get a lot of staff in a lot of trouble. anyway im more than happy to answer any questions.xx

When I was taken in the police told me to go willingly or be sectioned, I listened managed to get out in 10 days. Hope all goes well for you 🖤

I was in a place called huntercombe in 2007 then gartnavel in Glasgow between 2007-8. Recovery is possible and while things might hopeless and like you’re lost at sea 1 day you’ll reach land.

I know exactly how you feel. I was put on a section 37/41 and was in a secure hospital for 14 years . it was horrible. People don't understand how difficult it is being sectioned.

sending hugs kat and no one knows what hospital is like till they have been in one I was informal but very restricted and alarms going off day and night and can lose sense of time which doesn't help

I spent some time in a psych ward, ands it not a holiday, it was traumatic, but if you want to get better, and get your life together, it’s worth it😀

I had 2 section 22's understand well enough, 24/7 obs on me they didn't enjoy doing that for 2 months as I'd make them observe otherwise I was out the ward down the road and to the pub or shop 🤣

Stay strong and push on, not easy i know but you will and can get to a better place one step at a time don’t look forward to much been there and came true eventually
