It’s extremely safe. With physical cards the store gets your card number. Apple Pay generates a one time use “card number” that even if it’s stolen they can’t use again.

In some cases like Apple Pay, it is more safer than using the CC directly. It will use a 1-time token for the transaction rather than sharing the CC with the merchant.

The only reason to use credit card is the US obsession for debts and credit score. Debits are equally safe, in both cases you can challenge any transaction.

If you're using a credit card for rewards, need to check mobile pay payments count. In the UK don't always get the benefits.

Careful, banks are changing that, instead of ‘credit’ which it still is, they charge u ‘cash advance fee, and apple have ridiculous costs for handing transactions

I always leave my checking account alone, but a week ago, I found a ACH transaction to Homedepot 5k gone, and Citibank never informed me via text email call… none…. I’m waiting bank investigation…😭

It’s good unless someone steals your phone and charges the passcode. Your credit card company will deny your claims because it looks like it was your purchase
