@pbsnews: As Israel’s offensive in Rafah continues, the conditions at a hospital in southern Gaza are both dire and tragic, says Dr. Adam Hamawy with the Palestinian American Medical Association. "The degree and the level of casualties that are innocent civilians, most of my patients have been young children, women and elderly people that are in their 60s and 70s," he said. Hamawy, who helped save Sen. Tammy Duckworth’s life in Iraq when she was injured in 2004, has been providing medical aid at the European Hospital in Khan Younis. He is one of 10 American doctors who have been stuck in southern Gaza since Israeli forces seized the Rafah border crossing.
