There is an important distinction to be made between the endangered status of cats in the wild versus those in captivity. Cats in the wild are endangered, those in captivity are NOT endangered . In fact, there is an overpopulation of cats outside of accredited sanctuaries and zoos. These cats and our rescues have ZERO conservation value due to the overbreeding that happens for profit and exploitation . Ending the captive wildlife crisis is a vital step in someday improving conservation efforts.
