Valerie Jackson who is the lead pastor at Park Hill United Methodist Church in Denver. She joined the Methodist church from the Baptist church years ago, and is now a board member with the Reconciling Ministries Network, which has fought for the inclusion of LGBTQ+ people in the Methodist church for decades. “We are looking forward to preserving a church for the future, for those who are coming behind us that will not have to worry, can they walk through the doors? one important element to remember is that the UMC also lifted its disafiliation clause, so now churches can't leave, but they also included a reaffiliation clause :)
