Does the joy start outweighing the hard?? 😩 I’m 3 months in and it’s SOOOO hard 95% of the time

The joy peaks with that first child and goes down with each subsequent child- but not for the reasons you’d think, cuz the more kids, the more likely one is sad/hurt/upset and when 1 of your kids 1/2

One of my fave parenting books is titled “All Joy and No Fun” and this is exactly how parenting feels to me

The joy is endless. It’s all consuming. You feel like your heart is going to explode with joy

Yes, it can be joyful AND it’s way easier to feel this way if you have a lot of support, e.g., a nanny

there’s not many nuanced spaces. It’s either like “complain about your kids” or “kids are a blessing, this is my purpose and anybody who chooses to not have them is robbing themselves”

It’s almost hard to talk about because the joy is indescribable. It’s SO MUCH joy and love and happiness that never goes away no matter how hard. Other moms get it 🥰

YES TO THIS! It’s great we have the space to say it’s hard, but the joy is so much bigger. Also I find people are REALLY afraid to have kids because of all the discussion of what’s hard.

I have NEVER found it easier to get up in the morning. Seeing her tiny face peeking over the crib is like a triple shot of espresso to my brain

I think we all just have very different experiences in motherhood. And $$$ and privilege play a big role in that. Motherhood is incredibly joyous for me but damn, I’m exhausted, it is VERY hard work

Postpartum was my lowest of lows…but the toddler stage has me excited every morning. I know we are going to start our day with a dance party and think about how I’ve dreamed of this my whole life ✨

I’m sure money and access to resources has a direct correlation with joy

I think both realities are obviously true. However, I think socioeconomic factors play a huge role in how much of that joy a person is able to access.

33 weeks, Honestly I’m very excited, even for the hard things. I feel like I get sooo much negative advice or the “just wait” but like…. I’m really excited to experience all of that
