Also work in the oil industry. This guy isn't wrong at all. Environmental is never the issue. It's easy to do things the right way/clean way. The bureaucratic end is so much BS though

Casing is basically pipe inserted to prevent the hole that is being drilled from caving in, parted casing could mean the hole could need to be plugged and abandoned and someone has to pay for loss $
