@drjaleelmohammed: Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a condition characterised by persistent, excessive worry about everyday things like work, health, and finances, lasting at least six months. This worry often comes with physical symptoms such as restlessness, fatigue, muscle tension, and sleep issues, as well as psychological symptoms like irritability and difficulty concentrating. The exact causes are unclear, but it can run in families, be linked to brain chemistry, certain personality traits, life stress, or chronic illnesses. Treatment typically includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), medications like SSRIs or SNRIs, lifestyle changes, and support groups. #gad #generalizedanxietydisorder #MentalHealth #psychiatry #psychiatrist

I am hoping that research into hormone levels for GAD will happen. All my crisis times were around hormonal shifts eg PND, pkt and then perimenopause.

Thank you for putting real information about mental health diagnosis on TikTok. As a therapist, it’s frustrating when I have clients telling me I have blank because I saw it on TikTok and they’re so wrong.

maybe just maybe these worries like work, finaces, health are normal in this late stage capitalism. It's so normalized to diagnoze people but how to adapt to a sick, dystopian reality?!

I feel this way all the time. Almost like I’m always running toward the edge of a cliff that I can’t see. But I know it’s there. Does that make sense?
