we decided to homeschool bc of truancy. Other ppl send sick kid to school, make mine sick, I keep mine home like the handbook says, ans now I'm getting letters? no thanks.

it still exists. my district sends out warming letters, phone calls, emails about absences. all they require is a note. send a note.

I get sick at least 3 times a month a lot of the time I have to come to school sick and im absolutely miserable but yet I have a 4.3 gpa and i still get in trouble for not being there all the time

Idk if it is in my state cuz my son doesn’t miss a lot. I give him the occasional mental health day cuz sometimes I need one too, but school is his “job”, and I talk regularly with his teachers

My school decided excused absences counted for truancy so if you had too many excused absences, you could get a truancy letter
