I can’t understand why parents don’t teach their kids as much as possible 😢 I wanted to teach mine when at least the basics like their name , my full name, their address, phone number and etc

Yes agree but I think some teachers shouldn’t put all of the kids grades on testing as a lot of kids know the material they just don’t test well

Do they just not talk to their kids? I have an 18 month old and I basically just talk to him about my life and he picks up on colors and shapes

I had my kid doing basic kindergarten stuff at 4. I worked with flash cards, practiced reading and writing. I was shocked that when we got to Kindergarten, kids didn’t even know their colors or letter

My child is not even 3, he knows his shapes ( including like trapezoid and octagon), colours, counts, he recognizes all the letters, and their sounds….it takes very little effort.

Honestly I feel for teachers I remember I went to parent teacher conferences and the teacher was so nervous about telling us our sons behavior and expressed she was afraid to reach out to us because she’s been yelled at before by parents the sigh of relief on her face when I told her i would get his behavior corrected and to call me if I need to get out of work and catch my son in the act of misbehavior

Parents don’t even have to potty train anymore - so the EA that’s allotted to spec Ed kids spends most of their time changing diapers in kindie

When I was going to school my teachers taught me those things, not my parents. If parents are the ones who are supposed to be teaching them those things what are teachers supposed to be teaching them and why are we sending them to school? I’m genuinely curious.

My mum used to love teaching me to write my name, once I got the letters right she let me put my name on my bag with glitter glue. My stepdad showed me to tie my shoes and clean them ready for kinder
