I think one of the issues also is that people will compare a new IP to something that it's similar to, and kill the game by comparing it to that game.

The sad part is if even 3rd party ganes do well they still die off. I mean think of silksong. So many 3rd parties are stuck at one offs. Not all but most.

I was shocked that Days Gone didn’t get a sequel. Bought it at full price because I was excited for it. Enjoyed it overall. Buggy in some areas but manageable to get thru. And to sell 6M copies?!?!

Completely agree! I still want a Sly Cooper remake, tho, lol, but I definitely want new IPs to flourish. It would be nice if publishers stuck with the new IP team to support sequels!
