As a dev this works like 3% of the time. Most things you'd care to download don't host a straight file to download.

this is great advice if it was the year 2016. now between hls and dash partial streams plus DRM through widevine... you'll have a hard time doing this with any anything worthwhile

this doesn't work for everything, some sites stream videos in multiparty so you'd have to collect all of them and combine them together

Yt and Fb encode their media streams and break them into blobs I believe,so you need to piece them back togethr,also this works with bandcamp mp3s tho
