From rock bottom to Ironman #13. 🥹 There was a time when I didn’t think I’d live to see 30, let alone race again. Addiction had me in a chokehold—mentally, physically, spiritually. I wasn’t living… I was just surviving. I was burnt out, broken, and numb to everything that once made me feel alive. Triathlon saved my life once. But last year? It almost slipped away again. A year full of injuries, setbacks, and feeling like maybe my time in this sport had passed. I missed races. I lost fitness. I doubted myself more than I ever have. There were days I couldn’t even walk without pain, let alone swim, bike, or run. I felt like a stranger in my own body. But something in me wouldn’t quit. I rehabbed. I stayed sober. I got back up. And slowly… painfully… I climbed out of the hole. Now here I am. On the eve of my 13th full Ironman. 140.6 miles of reminding myself how far I’ve come. 140.6 miles of proving that the comeback is always stronger than the setback. This race isn’t about a medal. It’s about redemption. About honoring the kid who never gave up. The addict who chose life. And the athlete who refused to be done. If you’re in a dark place—please know it doesn’t have to end there. I’m living proof. Let’s go show that finish line who the hell I am. 💪🏼🔥 #Ironman #AddictionRecovery #TriathlonLife #IronmanTraining
