Pro tip from another chunky gray mare mom: shorten the halter crownpiece to bring the noseband up higher then drop the basket down. The more secure/higher the noseband, the harder to take off :)

Best thing with these muzzles is if they find out they can get grass through the corners you can use velcro and electrical tape to make some extra straps that are still field safe x

I had a 14 hand pony who was insulin resistant and needed a muzzle during spring through fall, once you find a good one wrap the crown of the halter in vet wrap to prevent rubbing ❤️

my horse gets her muzzle off EVERYTIME im disabled and she has major separation anxiety from her horse friends which made riding her too difficult, luckily shes a cob so she was able to handle-

Muzzles aren't cruel but ya also gotta be "cruel" to be kind my horse has a muzzle cuz like Misty she likes to eat to the point where she colics 🤣💔

I have a mini and even with a muzzle he gets insulin resistance when there’s a lot of rain and high sugar concentration in gras. I lock him up at night and soak his hay. He’s an amazing weight now.
