Parmesan is not an example. In Italian it’s parmigiano which has a “j” sound, which is much closer to the standard “zh” pronunciation than “s”

In the U.K we pronounce the brand Ralph Lauren as “Ralph Law-ren” even though it’s American, as if we’re trying to do some French pronunciation or something.
