There’s another way that I learned from my journey man when I had to solder a coupling verticaly - you solder the top first and then slowly bring the torch down and the solder will follow the heat :)

In my college we don’t do that my teacher said that Gravity is going to make the solder go from the top of the solder joint to the bottom so you don’t need to solder the bottom

Remove the blow lamp when applying the solder, and start on the lower part, love all the new tools though!
