BUT have you looked at the numbers for how many people make it to the end of the mortgage and end up actually owning the home ? Those numbers are for people who got into loans before all of this 💀

Not 2008, but who can continue to pay $3000 a month for $400,000 house, as soon as one loses their job it’s over

crash can be like 2008 if the laid off numbers keep increasing. they won't be able to pay mortgages when they lose jobs

yea let's not consider property taxes and insurance skyrocketing and starting to out price people even with under 4% interest rates

This is spot on. There’s also a group of homeowners who cannot keep up with rising property taxes and insurance costs

You should also have 6 months of savings (not to be used on the down payment) in case you lose your job. I prefer a year because my dad was unemployed for a year and couldn’t find a job.

Canadian here: couple earning $148k combined we live in a rural part of Ontario where our townhouses are being listed for $570k or more. We’d be paying more on a mortgage than our current rent. 😳

the 2008 crash was due to the subprime loan market..those borrowers still exits, they're just called something different now.

payment under 700 and 4% interest and I've been in my home for 11 years. I get sticker shock when I look at anything else, so I guess I'll stay here.

Government will have reverse mortgages. They will have new taxes around $2k a month for everyone with a house. Until you can’t pay, then they will step in to help but will say they own your house now.

My insurance premium has increased ~50% last year and it went up again about 15% for year 24-25. I’ve never filed a claim 🫠

A lot of people are choosing not to buy a house but live in rv or are living in rv on raw land. That’s what we’re doing property with house less than $100k this way
