I won’t be able to hand pollinate my pumpkins this year and all the flowers are under the leaves and so bushy is it bad if I trim the leaves to expose the flowers to bees?

Why wouldn’t you just cut off the long ends and force it shorter. Controlling nutrients to the entire plants seems toxic to plant.
