@nicholelynn_: As a new mom to a baby with a dairy allergy and reflux, feeding times were a LITERAL nightmare. Of course I didn’t know from the get go, that she had these things.. we learned them over time. But when we were in the thick of it, the thought of feeding her anywhere other than our house sent my anxiety sky rocketing. Baby girl would scream at the top of her lungs, mid feeding, in excruciating pain and in the off chance that she’d get her whole feed down, she would projectile vomit. I refused to feed her out in public, because it was a recipe for disaster. I remember this phase feeling so daunting. Never being able to leave the house for longer than 2 hours. Having to rush back home in time to feed her and do it all over again. During this phase, I couldn’t imagine a time where I’d feel comfortable feeding her elsewhere. This felt very isolating and lonely. Today, while feeding her in the car, I was reminded of this phases and realized it was just that .. a phase! Like many things in parenthood, it comes and goes. Many things will feel hard and impossible. Until one day, you look back and realize how far both you and your little one have come! So I’m here to tell you, if you are going through a phase, where the end seems no where in sight. I promise it’s there.
