Everything in moderation IMO. We don’t use screens 6 days a week, but sometimes we will turn on the TV so I can get an hour of stuff done around the house.

I had books in the 90s. Coloring books, picture books. Just books anytime we flew or drove anywhere.

In the late 90s early 2000s there’s things like the game boy and Nintendo DS that were good for traveling

My mom would walk us around the airport until we were exhausted and then when we would get on the plane we’d go right to sleep

Don't worry what others think. If it helps, then do it. I have a 4 yr old son who had a stroke at 2 wks old and now has CP (mentally 10 mon old) and a 22 mon old son (on the spectrum) and they do.....

We don’t do any screen time with our 2 littles, even on travel, it’s totally possible! No judgement to people who do use screens but our kids are happy and entertained without them!

I think it’s important to teach kids how to handle screens in moderation. Screens are apart of our society now and they can’t avoid them forever

We are very strict with screen time. We give them the iPad on long trips, it’s like a special treat, they look forward to it, plus it provides us peace. Kids learned the boundaries…

You definitely can but if you choose to do an iPad for the plane that totally makes sense too

Our doctor told us to get a tablet that’s ONLY an airplane thing. Don’t let them use it any other time other than when you’re flying.

Things are fine in moderation. If it can relax everyone on a flight (you, kids, those around), it’s literally not a huge deal.

When someone else is with your kid most of the day it’s a lot easier to be “no screen time parents”.

I think it’s such a big misconception that kids who have screen time can’t be in public without having to be on some type of screen.

It's easy. Take a lesson from an older parent: do what you need to in the moment and don't worry about it. Just bc "experts" say it, it doesn't make it true.

As an early childhood ed teacher/daycare provider- YES! No screens! it's awful for their development. we see a major difference in iPad kids vs screen-free kids. At least be screen-free until 2 years.
