@fatgirlfedup: Last summer I sat in Danny's truck & cried.. 😭 I cried because I couldn't go swimming. Something small to some, but just another thing that was taken away from me. Honestly I think it was one of the last straws for me because I was constantly stuck in the house in my chair, in chronic pain, or going to appointments with my calciphylaxis & having 30+ open wounds (which is exactly why swimming wasn't possible). With it being my husband's birthday this month, he wanted to go to the ocean, which is something that also wasn't possible for so long. Not only can I sit in a car pain free now, but I can walk + I'm also in remission - which means I can swim again, among all the other things that I missed out on! Wearing a bathing suit in public has never been easy for me at 485lbs, after I lost the weight, & now with even more battle wounds. Before putting a suit on I forgot I'd have new parts of my legs covered in scars for people to stare at other than just my skin, but quickly remembered thats the least of my worries after everything I've been through to get here. At one point this was all just a DREAM & I didnt think id survive to see the ocean or ever swim again. So it's time to ROCK all the bathing suits this summer with a smile on my face - loose skin, scars, battle wounds and all. I refuse to be covered on the beach when ive fought so hard to get here.
