I just thought you were trying to be more professional, or serious. Hey, we’re all growing, give yourself some grace :)

I do too! I think it’s because I run off other peoples vibes and it’s harder with just a camera.

𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹’𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 You’ve seen me talk about the concept of aging gracefully in several of my captions, but it was only recently that I started asking my patients during their interviews what it means to them. I loved Cheryl’s answer to the question and wanted to share it with you: “While I feel like I was aging gracefully in terms of my spirit and my attitude, I don’t think my face was keeping up with that. When you can finally have your face match how you feel inside, that’s when I can say you’re aging gracefully.” I’ve discussed this idea of your inner and outer self feeling aligned in the past. It’s not something we all experience, but when it does happen, the feeling is palpable and carries real weight. For my patients, plastic surgery is one of the steps they take to lift that weight and bring themselves back into alignment. As a reminder, Cheryl’s healing journey hasn’t been straightforward either. Part of her procedure involved reducing her submandibular glands (salivary glands). Although the surgery itself went off without a hitch, at some point after returning home, the glands began leaking fluid into her neck area. This created a pocket of fluid that had to be drained, and we ended up re-inserting the drains for a short period. I’ve often said that healing is not a linear process. And while patients are informed of the risks, it doesn’t make it any easier when you’re the one in the chair, feeling like you’re taking a step backward during an already long recovery. Setbacks do happen—that’s just part of the process. My team and I were with Cheryl every step of the way. She still has slight bruising on her neck and some residual swelling in the areas under her jaw, but as you can see at only her 3-month update, you’d never guess she experienced any complications. Remember, she’s still healing! The full and final results will be visible around the 6- to 9-month mark, but as you can tell from my reaction at the end, I’m blown away by how amazing she looks.
