@yamatrips: Do you agree with dual pricing? For hotel booking, try using Jalan or Rakuten Travel in Japanese and use Google Translate. #japantravel #visitjapan #japan
I love japan but it looks like they don't feel the same way......

That would make traveling inaccessible unless you are extremely wealthy in some cases no?

My country's economy is weaker than Japan even with the yen devaluation. Using this logic, shouldn't I get a further discount on everything? The concept of discrimatory pricing should sense both ways

Their economy is horrible right now. I think it's fine if it's not too much higher.

I really have no reason to visit xenophobic country with such primitive beliefs, and superstitions. You don’t like my tattoos you don’t like my money.

Price discrimination is a very common pricing strategy firms use, for instance student discounts at cinemas

I mean, less than a 20% markup. Isn't that bad? I'm not saying I love it. It's just not terrible for the industry

Considering a single US dollar equals 160.69 yen; it makes sense.

Still think that there should be an entry fee for all foreign tourists. With as many people coming in, just like 1000 yen could help Japan a lot

Honestly, before the yen down, i thought Japan was not that expensive (food mainly) so it's fine, if they not up too much

it might seem insane, bit japan is so absurdly overflown with turist right now, raising the prices for everything even flights Id say, might be the only option

Is this just the tourist tax that’s included in accommodation prices? The one that’s been already a long time

we do this in Hawaii with a special locals rate at some places. you need a phrase (don't ask for the phrase)

They should. 9万 is a lot closer to 900usd from a Japanese perspective and income. It seems cheaper only because of the terrible exchange rate.

Why not just remove the tax free purchase benefits for tourism? Increasing goods prices will just discourage people from coming, removing the tax free wont affect anything.

The whole reason why there’s an influx rn more than usual is because of how weak the yen is. Japan runs on tourism officially hiking up. Prices would decrease that drastically. 1/2
