@cbsnews: Why is a raging river at a dam in Minnesota making national news? Two reasons: climate change and aging infrastructure. Nearly three-quarters of all dams in the U.S. are still being used after their service lives were meant to end and thousands of them have been rated in poor condition – all while weather events are becoming more extreme. #dam #climatechange #infrastructure #minnesota #severeweather #flooding

Pretty sure the only problem was all of the logs piled up in front of the damn. That much water has to go somewhere

The reason it rained so much was because of the jetstream there was cold air on the north side of Minnesota, South Dakota, and Colorado and then on the south side of that line there was moist warm …

Ok yes climate change may contribute. But these things also happen every 100 to 500yrs. Always has. The problem I have with calling every bad event climate change it weakens the argument.

Is it true this this dam was just inspected and found to be structurally fine? But also how does the El Niño / La Niña effect compared to climate change? I’m in MN we’ve done this all before

I agree with aging infrastructure as an issue. The term climate change bothers me though. That would indicate that we know what the weather should be. Money won’t fix it.
