West Virginian here, try using a couple slices of Boar’s Head sandwiches pepperoni instead!! Also, so a string cheese cut up into chunks!! Pepper jack is also amazing!!! One of our favorite snacks!!

We make something similar I usually melt some butter add some Italian seasoning and garlic and parmesan to it mix it all up and brush it over the top when they're done. It's so good!

I buy the loaves and just roll it out, then slice. Also the boar’s head sandwich slices makes it easier. I get mine at a local deli.
