Definitely just replace the motor. New remanufactured engines not only offer piece of mind to the shop but also a warranty to the customer. Straight in and out as well as opposed to a rebuild

I would do a leak down on the rest of the cylinders to determine the integrity of the engine. I suspect the engine is just toast but that’s what diagnostic testing helps determine. 😎

Valve damage it’s a 3.6 liter or cam damage they have oiling issues

replace. but all these engines are getting up there. so if it were me. brand new motor or rebuild that one completely. either way, it's worth it for that car and engine.

I'd tell her what's going on and give her options. engine and value rebuild. or engine rebuild basically. or new motor. or used motor. give her all the prices and see what she says.
