Depends on the content and target audience, eg: for tech related, horizontal would be more suitable but if it was a makeup tutorial then vertical might make more sense. Could also test both?

I've been wondering the same thing because I need to create a course soon. Seems like most prefer horizontal. Personally I think vertical is the future.
