I fill ziploc bags with water and freeze them. Keeps the freezer cold when thr power goes out and doubles as clean drinking water.

emergency blankets can be taped up over windows to keep heat OUT in extreme heat too!! **can sometimes melt to windows though so only in a legit emergency. aluminum foil works too and won't melt lol

If you keep a paper map in your kit, make sure to get an updated one every few years. Roads can change and it’s important to have the most recent information available.

I also keep flex seal. Our roof didn't leak normally, but with the hurricane winds we had some places with a steady drip. flex seal did wonders.
