Rebinding The Knight and The Moth by Rachel Gillig Cover inspired by gothic windows, flower stained glass, and using the art from the chapter headers in the book for the moth and sword. ❤️ Full disclosure, nothing was working on this bind when I first made it. I didn’t keep how I would actually make it in mind when designing the cover and that snowballed into so many issues that I ended up redoing it all. Initially I thought I would do inlays, except the design wasn’t 100% symmetrical it turned into the worst jig saw puzzle. Then the tape I used to keep the inlays in place ended up fraying the bookcloth, and since the design was perfectly symmetrical the HTV didn’t line up. And to top it off I messed up casing it in! So I started over. @chaosandcodices on IG posted in her stories about DTF transfers and that inspired me to order a custom transfer online. And let me tell you it was SO much better the second time around. DTF is *kinda* similar to printable vinyl, but there’s no need to cut out any parts of the design and I’m not limited quality wise by my printer at home. Downside is an actual DTF printer is expensive so I’ll probably have to stick to ordering the transfers online vs doing it myself.
