make sure you do a continuity test on the MAIN fuses on the underside of the fuse box (ford sometimes use multilayer fuse boxes) there maybe large fuses underneath looking like a rail with 25amp etc

Contact Autowatch. They will tell you if it has a Ghost installed. if it is, they can provide an override code.

Follow procedure. Pull the fault codes, read the service document, follow the procedure. I would be checking the ECU (PCM) is getting power using a multimeter. FORScan and an hour, this would be done

wouldn't it be more cost effective to buy a whole ecu kit, and change it all over ? ... ecu, immobiliser, pcm, keys etc

Find the starter motor relay, get a thin piece of wire and bypass it so if you look at the relay it should tell you which side is the power and which is the relay it self . Once you apply power

If it doesn't jump start you will know the problem. The starter motor. If the pistons turn then it could be the head gasket. Like you said your guy said it's not power then it's an engine fault.
