I used to make $2.13 an hour in nc, and I make $16 now in ca but I’d rather work a desk job for $25 than do this for less than $40/ hour bc it literally eats at your soul how mean people are.

It leads to higher wages. The median server in Europe make $11.92/hr. In the US, median is $15.36/hr.

The service sucks in Europe though. I still tip them sometimes to cheer them up cause some of them look like they hate their jobs.

Tbh I wouldn’t do this job without the tips, if I’m not making $30 an hour minimum then it’s not worth it, and that’s only feasible with tips

Yes to all this, but servers don’t “make less than minimum wage wage.” If they don’t get enough tips, the employer fills in the rest. This tricks them into being pick mes to customers
