@zaccupples: The direction someone’s feet point when they walk can say a lot about their lower body mobility. Toeing out puts the hip into external rotation and limits internal rotation. Toeing in puts the hip into internal rotation and limits external rotation. These limitations in motion at the hip can change the way someone’s foot looks. The foot will often be positioned to make up for the motion the hip does not have. A turned out foot may show with a flattened arch (pronation/Internal rotation) to make up for the lack of hip internal rotation. A turned in foot may show with a high arch (supination/external rotation) to make up for the lack of hip external rotation. Regaining limited hip motion can help recover foot mobility. For a high arch work on squatting because it restores hip ER. For a flatfoot work on hinging because it restores hip IR. #physicaltherapist #physicaltherapists #strengthcoach
Jokes on you, I have turned out feet and high arches. So I cant be fixed 😂

I hate watching other people run because most of them run with their feet turned out and it just bugs me for no real reason other than it feels uncomfortable in my head.

Can someone explain why squating and hinging fixes this? Neither one of them rotate the hip??

Mrs.Argentum :
My feet are naturally pronated. If I point my toes forward and bend my knees, my knees knock. If I point out just a bit and bend, my legs bend straight.

I walk with my legs close together and my feet not only curved in but laying against one side on a curve. I've always walked like this and I remember

Some people have what's called miserable allignment where there leg below the knee is not alligned properly with the femur forcing the feet out.Surgery is often the only fix.

I turned inward so I tripped myself, at age 9 I started forcing my feet straight forward and within a few months I didn't think about it just walked. 53 soon and still walk toes pointing forward
