Since designing the laundry in our first home, I’ve always had questions asking why or if it’s worth putting upgrades in a laundry 🍂 For me, when we build our homes obviously aesthetic is a huge thing, because it simply makes me happy. And like in all our laundry’s that we’ve built, they’ve all flowed & been cohesive with the rest of the house, which to me just makes sense. And sometimes that doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot more in there. I love that we’ve used the same stone as the rest of the house, with the upgraded thickness of 40mm, as well as the overhead cabinets for more storage and the custom washer & dryer stacker cabinets, which we did in our first home too. As well as the matching handles & knobs + tap as the rest of the home, but of course all of this was quite expensive. If you wanted to keep the cohesiveness, but didn’t have the budget, you could do things like save on the cost of overheads and add a simple shelf instead, and even use a laminate for the bench top instead of stone, which would definitely bring down the cost, but still allow you to have a cohesive feel with the rest of the house, and maybe just splurge on upgrading the handles, knobs and tapware. It’s definitely a personal thing, but if it brings you happiness and is in your budget, I definitely recommend doing it! #laundry #laundryroom #interiordesign #interiordecor #interiorismo #australianhomes
