It was an honour to address the Water Malaysia 2025 Specialised Conference and Exhibition, where experts, innovators, and leaders came together to reimagine the future of our nation’s water sector. This year’s theme reminds us that water is not just a technical concern but a matter of national importance. Every family, every community, and every generation deserves access to clean, reliable, and sustainable water. To achieve this, we must modernise our pipeline systems, strengthen efficiency, and embrace innovation with urgency and purpose. Malaysia now stands at a defining moment. The decisions we make today will determine whether our water sector becomes a model of resilience and sustainability for generations. This means moving beyond theory to bold action – upgrading technology, enforcing higher standards, and building systems that are future-ready. At PETRA, together with SPAN, we are committed to reforms guided by four pillars: efficiency first, digital transformation, resilience planning, and stakeholder engagement. These are not abstract ideals but practical measures to reduce leakages, optimise resources, and empower communities. Transformation is not just about technology – it is about people.
