At my work we have regular compliance training, and the contents are often either obvious or have been previously explained. They exist so the company can prove that you were told, and so can very clearly hold you accountable if you transgress. I think this a good message to MPs, because as you said it heavily reinforces that conduct standards are now a focus and will be actively reviewed.

Several friends of mine work in the civil service and they’ve all had training for how to deal with incoming ministers and prepare them for the fact they’re a bit dim
