The failure of the 6.5 in my opinion completely because of the ELD-X bullet’s poor performance. The 6.5 swede and .260rem have been popular forever and are closely related to the creedmoor

Used 6.5 creed for big Missouri whitetail for years, shot a 11 point buck with mine went 13 yards, it’s the shooter not the cartridge

all tho I take my 3030 with me fir brush I'd grab my 270 win model 70 over anything. killed deer dead out to 460 yds with 130gr spbt. but the 3030 if you look back thru time it's prolly killed more big game n north America then anything. I know most don't consider deer as big game but bear n elk is about all we have n usa. n 3030 has takin alot of them before and after the modern smokeless powder came along.
