I hope to see significant positive changes in my lifetime, so I can hold my head high as an African. President Toré’s vision has made me think that such a future might be possible if we all view ourselves as Africans first. However, we still have many challenges to address: borders, tribalism, Western ideology and propaganda, corruption, and ineffective leadership in countries like Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, and others.
From my experience working in a contact center, I’ve observed that Westerners are not as brilliant as we might have thought. In fact, they often rely heavily on us for various tasks. There are instances where they ask us for basic guidance on using technology, such as how to enter addresses on GPS systems. Many Westerners depend on technology they do not fully understand, while their governments often propagate misinformation, keeping their populations complacent. Those who challenge this narrative often face severe repercussions, including being forced to sign non-disclosure agreements.
We need to reconsider our consumption of foreign media and Western apps, as they may be introducing values and issues that are counterproductive to our own progress, such as LGBTQ+ agendas, feminism, and other divisive topics. It is crucial for Africans to support each other and work together to resolve our issues.
For instance, Nigerians face difficulties abroad due to their nationality and lack of documentation. The recent elections in Nigeria, which led to Tinubu becoming President, demonstrated the need for intervention from other African countries to ensure fair elections, but no other African nation stepped in. Similarly, while external powers like Putin or China are unlikely to offer meaningful help, we must focus on developing our own leadership and fostering collaboration within Africa.
Nigeria, as a significant player in Africa, could potentially lead the way if it had effective leadership. The challenges faced in South Africa highlight the need for unity. It is essential for African leaders, including the King of Morocco and others, to collaborate to address issues in West Africa and beyond.
Ultimately, we need a unified Africa with a common language, a collective army, and strong governance. Africans are well-educated and resourceful, and we can achieve great things if we work together.
God bless Africa.
