Welcome to this instructional video on correctly performing the overhead triceps extension with an EZ bar. This exercise is a great way to strengthen and tone the triceps and can be performed with little risk of injury.  First, begin by seating yourself in a chair and holding the EZ bar with an overhand grip, with your arms extended vertically above your head. Place your feet firmly on the ground and make sure your back is straight.  Now, slowly bend your elbows, lowering the bar towards your head until your elbows are at around a ninety-degree angle or as low as safely to do so. Throughout the motion, keep your upper arms steady and close to your head.  Once your elbows have bent, pause briefly before extending them back up to their starting position, without locking them out. It is important to keep your elbows close to your head throughout the whole exercise. Now that you are done with the first repetition, it's time for the second repetition. Follow the same steps as you did in the first repetition, but remember to keep your breathing steady and in control.  Continue with this exercise working up to 10 -12 repetitions and 3-4sets. Be sure to take short rests in between sets to avoid fatigue. And make sure that you are keeping a good form throughout the entire exercise.  Now that you understand the technique behind this exercise, repeat this routine at least once each week for best results. After a few weeks, you should start to feel the difference, as your triceps become stronger and more toned. So there you have it!
