this was only because my boyfriend wouldn’t answer my calls. it turned out to be a worse issue later in the day, but i’m genuinely proud of myself for not engaging in destructive behavior. even when i had a worse episode later on, all i did was scream. i didn’t hurt myself. i didn’t hurt anyone else. i was just in intense pain. i’m not usually this raw on the internet but i want this to be a good example on harm reduction for bpd episodes. so far the best thing that helps is squeezing and even ripping pillows or blankets while screaming into them. it doesn’t help the pain very much, but notice how i could’ve punched or scratched myself at certain points and didn’t. when my mom heard me screaming, she said it sounded like someone died. for people like us, yes, it really does feel like someone died. it can feel like we ourselves are dying too. our brains can register any small mishap, especially involving our favorite person, as an unfathomably horrible tragedy. it gets so bad that it physically hurts. it is possible to get through it without causing further harm, though. it is possible to get better. i hope im not embarassing myself. #borderlinepersonalitydisorder #bpd #MentalHealth #clusterb
