Leaving with no notice is always allowed with an at-will contract. You've just gotta decide whether you want to burn a bridge. If your manager fires you with no notice, they made that same call.

My wife wanhospitalized and passed away, the office fired me due to excessive absences. 7 years in the office with 4 years no absent and no tardiness for 7 years. I was out fo 17 days and fired me.

HR here…agree mutual respect and loyalty is necessary, but many employees who are fired have received (*should* have) prior notice/warning. Two weeks’ notice is a courtesy, not a requirement.

Nah. I was given 15 minutes notice before I was laid off for “restructuring“. I will never give two weeks notice again at any job.
