I am a mom, who has a 9-5 corporate job, who juggles social media, family life, and friendship. We are told our entire lives that once we become mothers everything else is pushed to the backburner. For some women, they accept that with open arms. For other women, motherhood sounds daunting and feels like a ticking time bomb for the life we currently live. The latter is where I fell into. I struggled in postpartum because I didn’t want to lose myself forever. And it made me feel like an awful, selfish mother. In the last couple years, I have learned a couple things: 1. Motherhood doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. People are going to judge your parenting style no matter what. 2. Filling your cup and etching out space for yourself is actually a good thing. When I really felt like I was in the thick of it, those moments to pick a cute outfit and take a couple hours to myself helped me enormously. It reconnected me to my mind and body. 3. I don’t need validation anymore if I am a good mom or not. I know I am an amazing one. I just choose to prioritize my well being as well and that doesn’t sit well with some people, which results in all these negative stereotypes. I am still figuring it out day by day, but if you are scared your dreams have to end, or that you will never find yourself in motherhood, then welcome to my account. I hope my page provides a little inspiration that life as we know it doesn’t have to end in motherhood. It gets a whole lot better! . . #momthoughts #MomsofTikTok #momsover35 #momfashion #momoutfits
