when a car overheats, NEVER shut it off, pullover instead and turn on the heater. Get out of the car if you have to.

What a waste, one of the easiest cars to work on, parts are cheap and it would have had lots of life left in it if fixed☹️

Never shut it off. It needs the water circulating to cool it. The water in the jackets around the cylinders will superheat and cause more damage. Hood open, heater on high.
