Retired optician here. Has anyone offered you high index lenses? They are more expensive, but thinner. Also, the smaller the frame the thinner the lenses.

I have keratoconus so my lens look like coke bottle bottoms. I always ask for thin lenses. Just a tad bit more.

The frames of my last glasses cost £90 but thinning the lenses made them £350 in total. It is criminal how much glasses cost 🤔
