On Friday, July 11, 2025, I took my 2022 Audi Q3 to Jiffy Lube for a routine oil change my first and, sadly, my last visit. The staff, including Ms. Amanda, were courteous during the service, and I had no reason to believe anything had gone wrong. Unfortunately, Less than a hour of leaving, it became clear that something had. After stopping at a nearby CVS on Tidwell, my vehicle’s warning lights came on at 5:05 p.m. I immediately called the same Jiffy Lube location and was advised to return so they could look at the issue. I explained I was about an hour away and had urgent travel plans the next day, but they told me they would wait. As I neared the shop, my car began to smoke. I pulled over and with help moved the vehicle to a safe location. I called my family for help, and about an hour later, Amanda and her crew arrived. Upon opening the hood, one of the technicians immediately noticed that the oil dipstick had been inserted backwards a serious error that can lead to oil system failure in vehicles like mine. I recorded the technician admitting this on video. My car was towed to Audi North Houston, where it was confirmed that the engine had suffered catastrophic damage, totaling over $31,000 in repairs. To make matters worse, the receipt Jiffy Lube provided listed the wrong make, model, mileage, and vehicle details entirely and stated that they used 7 quarts of oil, when my Audi Q3 doesn’t even hold that much. These discrepancies raise serious concerns about whether my car was serviced properly. Let me be very clear: this was not my fault. I did exactly what any responsible car owner would do I brought my vehicle in for a basic, professional service and immediately reported issues when they arose. The damage is solely due to Jiffy Lube’s negligence, and they are now refusing to take accountability. I’m sharing this to raise awareness and to ask for help whether from legal professionals, the media, or anyone who has experienced something similar. No one should face this kind of financial and emotional burden after trusting a company with a routine service.
