@happilyeveralphin: To know that we’ve been writing our love story for 18 years is truly something amazing 🥹 I could write a book about our story but I’d rather you enjoy this 60-second snippet. Our story has so many eras that trying to fit it in 60-seconds only scratches the surface of how deep and rich our story is. From 2006 to now, it’s gotten sweeter with time. I love you Bae 🥹🫶🏽 @𝐃𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 💸 thank you for choosing me every single day. #HappilyEverAlphin #ourlife #blacklovestories #tellblackstories #blacklovepage #era #ourstory #blackmarriagematters #highschoolsweethearts #explorepage

Tangata Manu (
Tangata Manu ("bird-man") was a sacred annual ritual held on Easter Island (Rapa Nui) between the 17th and 19th centuries, after the decline of the Moai culture. Instead of carving stone giants, power was now earned through a spiritual competition tied to the creator god Makemake. 🗿 The ceremony took place at the ceremonial village of Orongo, located on the edge of the Rano Kau volcano. Each tribe selected a warrior (competitor) who in turn appointed a "hopu" — a helper who would compete on their behalf. 🌋 At dawn, hopus climbed down 250-meter cliffs, leapt into the ocean, and swam through shark-infested waters and strong currents toward the islet of Motu Nui. Their mission: find the first egg of the sacred sooty tern (manutara), wrap it in cloth, and bring it back — intact. 🥚🌊 The return was even more brutal: with the fragile egg in hand, they had to swim back and climb the cliffs again. The winner was the tribe whose runner returned first with an unbroken egg. 🏃‍♂️🥇 The sponsor of the winning hopu became the Tangata Manu — a sacred figure, isolated from society, forbidden from contact with women, and treated as a living symbol of divine will. 🕊️ His tribe earned prestige and the right to lead religious and social matters for the year. 👑🔥 The ritual ended in the late 19th century after Christian missionaries arrived, but today it remains one of the most powerful examples of spiritual and political leadership in Polynesian culture. 🌺🌍 #historytok #historybuff #rapanui #easterisland #ancienthistory #LearnOnTikTok #culturalheritage
